Developers of The Plaza Hotel say they are still moving ahead.

Several recent news reports say that the financing for the purchase of the land for the future The Plaza Hotel Las Vegas has been extended. According to the reports, the loans were related to developer ELAD Properties’ purchase of the land (that once sat under the Frontier). While the financing extension is encouraging, the fact that the developer says they still plan on moving ahead next year is something happy to look forward to.
Boyd Gaming announces putting Echelon on hold.

An under-construction, multi-billion-dollar mega-resort property on the Las Vegas Strip has been put on hold by its developer, Boyd Gaming. After speaking to a historian and a professor, they tell me this is the biggest construction stoppage on the Strip since the 1940s.

This photo shows the northern section of ARIA Resort & Casino at MGM MIRAGE CityCenter in Las Vegas. It appears that ARIA is getting very close to topping off, a very significant accomplishment.

Steve Wynn — leader — not follower. And as the Las Vegas real estate market continues to adjust, he has big plans for his prime location golf-course property behind the Wynn and Encore Resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Even nicer, the plans include lots of trees and open spaces, as opposed to high-density development.

The new owner of the aging Sahara Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip has started talking. Recently, Sam Nazarian (a wealthy entrepreneur out of Beverly Hills) gave hints to his plans for the iconic property.

As if over $10 billion of mega-resort growth at Harmon Ave. and Las Vegas Boulevard wasn’t enough to ooh and ahh visitors come 2010 - Reports have hit the internet that Planet Hollywood has offered Mariah Carey a big offer for a three-year gig on the hottest corner on the Las Vegas Strip. It seems the perfect time to add one of the world’s biggest superstars to what is poised to become one of the most exciting blocks on the planet (no pun intended).
