Steve Wynn makes big announcement about plans for Wynn Las Vegas golf course.

Steve Wynn — leader — not follower.  And as the Las Vegas real estate market continues to adjust, he has big plans for his prime location golf-course property behind the Wynn and Encore Resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.  Even nicer, the plans include lots of trees and open spaces, as opposed to high-density development.

Quick Tidbit

Wynn Resorts recently began hiring for approx. 5,300 new jobs for the soon-to-open Encore.  The property is expected to open in December 2008.

New Development

The Wynn golf course sits behind two multi-billion-dollar resort hotels (Wynn and Encore) and is quite massive.  According to a recent report, plans call for a park-like setting, including a lake, a new hotel, and condominiums.  The park-like setting would be extremely unique for a Las Vegas Strip property.  Then again, so was a volcano back in 1989.  And that volcano forever changed Vegas.

We all knew that the golf course development was planned, but some are questioning condos, thinking that the media made a mistake.  When Steve Wynn first announced the plans a few months ago, he never mentioned condos.  Also, in a recent video interview, he never mentioned condos.

If there WILL in fact be condos, no word yet if the properties would be condotel or residential, or even high-rise for that matter.  However, one would imagine that residential condos would be the way to go, especially considering the serene environment and level of luxury which is expected.

I will provide more info as it becomes available.
